Arimidex is Anastrozole – the active ingredient which was approved by US FDA back in 1995 for the use of breast cancer treatment.

The compound is an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) which is in the same family as Femara and others, which, alongside with Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) such as Clomid and Nolvadex form up anti estrogens. Such medications are known for dealing with the estrogenic based health issues but there are huge differences in the mechanism of actions and how they address the problem between SERMs and AIs.

Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs) like Anastrozole found in Arimidex or Anazole are used both in bodybuilding for dealing with estrogen related side effects during the cycle with aromatizable steroids and in medical settings for various health purposes, mainly for breast cancer treatment for women.

Anastrozole was patented in 1987 and has been approved in 1995 but nowadays the compound is one the list of WHO of essential medicines. The compound is also essential for anyone who is searching for using aromatizable anabolic and androgenic steroids. The compound also can be used for a PCT plan, but is very rarely used for such purposes – mainly Anastrozole has been found to be very effective for gynecomastia treatment and prevention as well as other estrogenic based side effects.

Arimidex is a medication used for bodybuilders during the administration with aromatizable steroids in order to deal with estrogenic based side effects. But the active compound Arimidex most often sold as Arimidex is used in addition to other treatments for breast cancer, for the hormonally receptor positive breast cancer. It can be given as a preventative breast cancer for those at high risks. It might have other purposes too.

Arimidex is used by men with big success for dealing with the estrogenic side effects such as water retention, gynecomastia, hypertension and many others. Being an aromatase inhibitor, the compound is binding to the aromatase enzyme and is blocking the conversion into estrogen, therefore reducing the overall flow of estrogen in the body.

When an individual is using “wet” steroids such as testosterone, Dianabol, Boldenone (Equipose), Deca (Nandrolone) or many others, he is at risk of getting high estrogen and side effects out of it. Arimidex is used for combating those side effects by reducing the estrogen flow in the body.

The difference between AIs (like Anastrozole) and SERMs (like Clomid or Tamoxifen) is that Arimidex would prevent the production of estrogen in the first place while with a SERM your body is still going to have estrogen.

Arimidex Dosage | Anastrozole Administration | Anastrozole Doses

Dosages for Arimidex containing Anastrozole is varying from a person to person and is greatly depending on the aromatizable steroid dosage and steroid type. For example, if you’re not using an aromatizable steroid but a “dry” steroid then you won’t require Anastrozole at all. Usually, dry steroid are used for cutting and getting shredded.

However, using aromatizable steroids for bulking up and getting massive requires Anastrozole for dealing with the side effects and the dosage of Anastrozole depends on the steroid dosage because low dosage of the steroid would offer lower estrogen.

Most people start with half of a mg used every other day and after they get a feeling of what they need, they might adjust the dosage by increasing it with 0.5 mg. Most people find the perfect estrogenic protection with a dosage anywhere in the range of 0.5 mg used every other day to maximum 1 mg used per day.

This compound is coming in form of tablets and should be swallowed by mouth. It has a half life of about 46 hours and is a medication that would build up in the system when is used systematically. That’s why it requires a while until you get the full effects.

Start slowly and do not use more than required, otherwise you risk inhibiting too much estrogen which leads to negative side effects.

Anazole Side Effects | Anastrozole Side Effects | Arimidex Side Effects

As mentioned, by taking way too much of Arimidex containing Anastrozole, too much of estrogen is going to be inhibited and that’s leading to side effects too. As strange as it might sound for some, but estrogen is still required for growing muscles too.

But as a result of too low drop of your estrogen levels, you might expect negative side effects such as erectile dysfunction (ED), low libido, depression, loss of energy, insomnia and others.

That’s all happening when you’re overdoing on the aromatase inhibitor, however, if you’re going to use the compound properly, side effects virtually do not exist. They are much more likely to occur for females requiring Arimidex in higher doses and for much longer periods of time.

Bodybuilders using the compound in low doses for short periods of time (as long as a steroid cycle lasts which is a matter of weeks), are very unlikely to get any side effects at all.

The bottom line is: if a person would use aromatized “wet” steroids without an estrogenic protection such as Arimidex, chances are much higher for them to get unwanted side effects such as water retention, gynecomastia, hypertension and many other too high estrogen related side effects compared to using a proper dose of Arimidex.
